Taking Sides in Terror

We have reached a point history where after every mass killing or terrorist attack the public are split into hoping the killer is one race/religion while the other half hope they aren’t.

When the details emerge there is almost glee from one side and deflection or excuses  from the other.

Nobody stops to think about the victims other than to keep score.

As a world, I don’t know where we go from here.

Pride, everyone’s felt it. It’s one of the seven deadly sins and many say the worst however I’ve noticed it in myself and others in a way that I never noticed before:

Many people are proud of their other character flaws, they will boast of how angry they were or how they’ll get revenge on someone. It could even be as simple as pride in how drunk they were or locker room talk of conquests.

This pride in negative acts is dangerous because you will never try to rectify a behaviour you feel proud of and you will encourage yourself to repeat it.
